So, it seems that I can’t actually take a day away from writing. Not at the moment, anyway, when I have so many different novels bubbling up inside of me.

I sat down with Shaede today with the intention of getting the first chapter overhauled. It’s the chapter that beta readers have had the most issues with, and I had a few problems myself with it. I managed to get halfway through it (2,552 words). I really wanted to get the rest of it done, but it just didn’t happen. I’m currently in flare and dealing with the aftermath of a nocturnal migraine, and my brain just didn’t want to work any more.

I’m not sure how much editing I’m going to do on Shaede. I guess I’ll just keep going and see how things go. Just working on it has made me enthused about the world it’s set in, and now the two sequels are clamouring for attention. Books, there’s only one of me, dammit. You’ll all have to wait your turn, or find a way to make my brain work for longer periods of time.

I guess it's mostly that there's not much going on that I really want to blog about. At the moment, I write, I get frustrated with writing, and I'm going through a list of all of the house stuff we need to get done. It's kinda boring, really. There is some other stuff going on, but I haven't really wanted to blog about it. I can email you, though, if you're curious :)

If we do have to completely re-roof, we'll be going for colorbond steel. Which makes me insanely happy, because I love the sound of the rain on it! I just hope it's not going to be crazy expensive, especially since it's likely we'll need some roof carpentry done as well.

And our curtains/blinds actually weren't crazy expensive - we went with Kresta, who have a rather good sale on right now (50% off!) - half of the cost is from the double blinds we're getting in the family room (they have a sheer layer of blind and then a solid one) - we're getting three of those, vertical blinds in two rooms (two windows in one of those), and full curtains and sheers in the lounge room and bedroom, all for just over $3k. That's including installation and new tracks everywhere. I can't wait to see how they all look!

Yes yes I'm curious! Email me! *bounces*

And that is pretty good. We can't afford that now (security screens are more important) but it's good to know for future reference; especially if we wait for a sale, that'll be pretty awesome! :)

I think colorbond steel is actually cheaper than tiles, from memory. That's why they encourage a lot of the houses at Homestart to go with steel instead. Cutting 6 or 7 sheets of steel and riveting that in, is cheaper than laying hundreds of tiles.

Do you have a company sorted for security screens already? The guys who put ours in were awesome - Bond Security :)

And heh, I typed that first as Blond Security.

Will email you!
