Writing:
Another good day. Staying away from the internet seems to be a thing of success for me.
I’m also doing another experiment, in which I have my laptop set up in a different part of the house. I usually work sitting on the couch in front of the television (which isn’t always on) and I’ve found myself wanting a nice little writing nook. A nook, I don’t really have. But I do have a large desk set up for beading and crafts. Not the ideal for writing (yet) but enough for the time being. I have my laptop set up here, along with a set of speakers for playing music. I’ve been working here today and like it so far.
If this continues being productive, I’ll make an effort to get this area set up properly. It currently has a lot of stuff stashed around it (beading stuff, piles of fabric and boxes of books and knitting stuff underneath the desk). This could be fixed with some thought and would make this a really nice place to work. It looks out over the sunroom, so I have natural light, and is tucked away from the rest of the house.
Now I really want to pretty up this area and make the kind of writing space I always wanted. I’ll see if I like working here for a little bit longer before making any investments of money, but I can certainly clean it all up a bit.
Real life:
Did a couple of loads of laundry. Contemplated how I can work around storage in this house a bit better. We have tonnes of storage, but we also have tonnes of stuff. When we moved in, things got chucked in a bit haphazardly and we haven’t actually spent any time organising properly. It’s going to have to happen this year anyway as we need to make room for the sprog, so I might as well start soon.
Going to go and do some more review reading and maybe pen a draft of a review if I get time.
