Thought and Memory

New words: 2,139

Total words: 40,737

Listening/watching: X-Files.

Total words for the year: 78,767

The ease of this week ended today. I don’t know if it’s the weather, or the fact that I didn’t sleep that well last night. Either way, today I had issues concentrating. Even caffeine didn’t help that much.

Still, I got my words done, bringing this project over the 40k mark. I have other work that I should spend some time with, but I think I’m going to have to obey the whims of the human suit and spend the rest of the day quietly.

No paranormal stuff in XFiles? Maybe I should wait until its on DVD then. Oh bummer, paranormal is what I love about that show.

ditto.

the best period of x-files was when it was still about ghosts/aliens/monsters/cults/super-powers/human combustion etc and there was some tension/hint of possible relationship between Mulder&Scully, but it was subtext, behind the main story- things that go bump in the night.

Once it got to purely *aliens/govt conspiracy/these guys are clearly gonna get together after dragging it out as long as humanly possible* it was a bit crap.

It's funny, when I was originally watching the series, I hated all the conspiracy episodes. On rewatching, those were all the ones that I looked forward to the most.

I suppose they have the most dramatic tension on re-watching, whereas the *punchlines* for the bogeyman etc episodes would be old.

There's a bit, but not of the kind of grand nature that we used to get from the show. I did like the movie, but I just could have liked it *more* I think.

Chemical Sleep would make a fab sci-fi story title - so keep it in mind and don't forget ;-)

Have a lovely day! :-)
