Thoughts and reflections
Feb. 19th, 2007 08:07 pmI am seriously jonesing for a sale of some kind.
Something I’ve noticed about Australian spec fic – we have a lot of short story writers. A lot of writers who are very, very good at short stories. I envy them as they get publication credits.
Now, I’ve had a handful of shorts published. They’re not my strength, and I readily admit that. But it doesn’t stop me from jonesing for more credits to my name. I do have a couple of shorts, one of which made it to the final round for an anthology, which need to find homes.
Perhaps that should be my task for this week, to send them out again. All of my other unpublished shorts need some serious overhauling right now.
I also have on my to-do list another group of agents to query for Shaede. The MS is still with my dream agent, who invited me to resubmit after edits. I sent it off at the end of last year and haven’t heard yet. An email query has also vanished into the aether. Might be time to resubmit, because I would love for her to be my agent.
I probably should give myself a few days off novel writing to catch up on all of this stuff. I am such a creature of habit that I’m almost scared that I won’t be able to start again if I stop now in the middle of the book.
