Writing:
Another good day. To be fair, I did do a good deal of rewriting today, since I was really unhappy with the chapter I drafted on Friday. It was only technically rewriting, though, since I basically completely reworked the chapter.
And I have successfully written myself into a corner again, since something happened that I didn’t think was going to happen until later on in the book. This is why I can never be a heavy relier on an outline, people. My brain just doesn’t work that way.
I have been seriously pounced by one of my characters from Never, so I’ve begun doing some outlining of that as well. Mostly character background and the like. I cannot wait to work on this, at least in part because I’m going to set half of the book in Perth. I tend to write about nebulous any-cities most of the time, so it’s going to be a bit strange to have a real life setting. But that’s where he lives :) I may even get a Little Creatures reference or two in
Real life:
Cleaned the house, did a couple of loads of laundry. Listened to a man banging around on the roof (the long process of fixing our fubared roof is still ongoing, but will be finished with only one more major step, which is getting the whole thing resurfaced and resealed.).
I also started watching Six Feet Under again as an accompaniment to my lunch break. Awesome writing inspiration, since everything is foreshadowed so well (even in the pilot!). Not to mention that the whole show is just completely awesome. I am so happy that I own the DVDs.
Now I need to fix up a review a little and post it to Horrorscope, and then get some more review reading done before it’s time to deal with laundry again. The glamour!
