The "I don't wanna"s
Mar. 29th, 2007 05:07 pmI seriously have had very little impulse to have anything to do with the written word this week, either by writing or reading.
I have been writing, revising a short story, Death’s Servant. At a slow rate of 1k per day, it’s better than nothing.
I’m wondering if part of this funk is due to the fact that I just don’t like writing short stories. They’re not my thing. I occasionally get a great idea for one, but most of my ideas end up being novel length. Maybe. Maybe I’m just burned out a bit after frantic novel writing.
Either way I’m going to get these revisions done, revise another short story and send them out into the aether. And then get back to novel work, probably on Thought and Memory. That one’s been slipping back into my head, so I guess it’s rested long enough. Trouble is that I’m tempted to completely rework it – argh!
In other news, got a request for a full of the revised version of Shaede. Fingers crossed. I still haven’t sent out any other queries, bad writer.
And in other, other news, I’ve disabled commenting for the time being. The spam was driving me insane.
