Another day where words were like pulling teeth.  I know it’s an oft-used phrase, but it’s appropriate for days like today.  Concentration is a fickle thing, and I find my thoughts wandering time and time again.  I might try to get some more words out later, depending on how my brain behaves.

The culprit for this lack of concentration is an old one - bad sleep.  I miss the days when I used to sleep 10-12 hours a night without waking up a single time.  Now, even with medication, I’m a restless sleeper.  It doesn’t help when the cat is running up and down the house all night, either.  The bad sleep is likely due to (or the cause of, depending on how you look at it) fibromyalgia.  Ironically, while I’m a little sleepy, I feel okay physically.  It’s just the damn lack of concentration.

There’s a new review of mine, for Fantasy and Science Fiction May 2007, over at Horrorscope, along with lots of other goodies from the rest of the team, as always.

I am happily ensconced upon the couch with the laptop, the last two episodes of season three of Battlestar Galactica on the television.

Words cannot express how much I adore this series.  Sure, there are a handful of episodes that are ordinary, but the bulk of them are just amazing.  The end of season three rates amongst the best series ends I have ever seen.

It reminds me of how many series have great premises and just end up being ordinary.  Heroes is one for me.  Now, I know a great many people adore the series.  I watch it, but if I had to stop watching now, it wouldn’t bother me.  I don’t give a damn about any of the characters.  And they all persist in being so utterly stupid time and time again.  It’s just plain frustrating to watch.  The current season has improved somewhat, but it’s still lacking.

Oh, well.  I’ll always have Galactica.  Assuming the writer’s strike doesn’t end up killing the series.  Then I would be most upset.
