A productive day

I woke up this morning not really wanting to write. I’d been thinking about some of the backstory of Shaede after some comments made about the first chapter. Basically, some of the backstory was a bit illogical, and I needed to change it. I messed about with some minor edits of chapter one, and eventually threw up my hands and went back and rewrote the whole thing. And lo, there is logic now and all is well in the world.

Today’s progress:

Project: Shaede draft four
New words: 4,441
Total word count: 4,441
Goal: 100,000 words (or thereabouts)

Writing: Fixed the illogical backstory and did a bit of tidying up. I find it difficult to move on when I still have stuff that needs to be fixed in already written stuff. That wordcount is impressive though! I think that I can get higher word counts on this, since I’m rewriting, and so I hope I can get this draft done fairly quickly.

Real life: Things accomplished today - laundry, house cleaning. Much caffeine imbibed. Watched the commentary of Romeo and Juliet while working. I’ve been experimenting with different background noise and music - director’s commentaries have been useful this week (so far I’ve listened to Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge and Constantine.)
