Where did that come from?

After a week of practically no progress on this damn novel, I sat down today with the intention of playing around with another writing program. Which led me to some organisation of notes. Which led me to start playing around with the novel again. Um, back at the beginning. Yeah, it’s bad, but it needs to be done.

I’m tempted to just suspend recording word counts for a little while, at least until I’ve caught up to where I was. I need to add in a few things here and there – I have a couple of big scenes that I want to put in, and I’m going to play with the structure a little bit. If I just keep track of these revised words, it looks like I haven’t done very much at all. Perhaps I’ll just leave off the word meter for a little while.
