Today’s progress:

Project: Requiem draft one.
New words: 2,202
Total word count: 61,397
Goal: 50,000 words (for Nanowrimo, the final draft will be longer of course)

Writing: I will admit to being very bad about starting Nanowrimo.  I can’t even blame tiredness, either.  I simply spent a good chunk of the afternoon watching the husband play Fallout 3, which is an extremely pretty game.  Thankfully, I had the brain power to get some writing done this evening.  Which is actually pretty unusual for me, to be honest.

I have a reall rough starting point, one which I think is probably going to get changed.  In the normal scheme of things, I’d probably mess with it a lot more and make sure that it’s working well before I moved on.  But since I’m doing Nano, I’m going to just keep moving on.  I’m working without a real outline at the moment.  I have the next few scenes planned out, and I have some vague ideas for some scenes I want to work towards, and that’s about it.  It’s been so long since I’ve worked on a first draft of something that I’m slightly worried, but also having fun at the same time.

I was actually hoping to get more words in today, since it’s likely that I won’t have any writing time tomorrow due to family commitments, but I’ll accept what I have.  I can catch up during the week if I need to.  Considering that I average about 50k a month without pushing myself, I think I’ll be safe getting to the Nano goal.  Providing things don’t go horribly wrong.

Real life: Watched the husband play far too much Fallout 3.  Tried to figure out why wordpress isn’t cross-posting to LJ at the moment, then tried to find a fix for it (I’m thinking it’s an issue with the latest Wordpress upgrade), and then gave up.  Haven’t really accomplished much of anything apart from a successful shopping trip in which the husband got shiny things this morning.  It’s been that kind of a Saturday.
