Calling the local LJ hivemind
Jan. 25th, 2009 02:18 pmI know that several people have mentioned knowing good massage therapists/chiropractors etc locally in the past, and I've forgotten to ask for details.
I'm thinking of trying to find a new chiropractor and/or masseuse or other body worker (such as acupuncturist), but I'm at a loss as to where to go.
I used to see a chiro in Perth, but I don't want to see him anymore (he pretty much told me I was an idiot for believing that I had FMS). He helped my back and headache issues a lot, but I don't know if his technique would work on me now.
I have seen a local masseuse in the past, and may go back to them if I can't find someone else. However, the therapist I was seeing was pretty harsh, and again, I don't know if I could cope with that now.
I'd need someone who has experience working with fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain and/or arthritis. My muscles are pretty much always tense and very sore, so I'm wary of seeing just anyone.
So! Anyone local have any recommendations? North of river or in the city a bonus, at the very least needs to be accessibly by public transport (train is the best).
Comments are screened, so you can give me contact details if you want. Or you can email me at azhure AT gmail.com.
