…and she says, I’ll take you down…
It’s Monday. Why is it Monday? Oh well, at least we get a five-day long weekend at the end of the week.
Yesterday consisted of housework, which was very unpleasant, given that it was ridiculously humid. And massage, which was overdue and much needed. I did actually do a bit of writing as well – sketched out a review, which I’ll get cleaned up and posted today, all being well.
I did manage a bit of reading on my current book, which is The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, recommended and reviewed by Ian Mond on the latest Writer and the Critic podcast. I’m attempting to read all of Ian and Kirstyn’s recommendations before I listen to each podcast. So far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much I’ve enjoyed each of the books, and it’s made me pick up books that I otherwise wouldn’t have. If you don’t already listen to the podcast, I recommend it thoroughly. Ian and Kirstyn are fun to listen to, and always have great insights into the books they talk about.
Media consumption last night consisted of catching the latest episode of Fringe, at which I continue to be dead impressed by Anna Torv. We also started watching Return of the Jedi, though I was falling asleep halfway through and had to switch it off. I’d been madly craving a rewatch of the Star Wars movies, and we’ve been slowly making our way through them.
