And the weekend continues…
Apr. 26th, 2011 08:36 amDespite it officially being a public holiday yesterday, I was productive.
Approx 1600 words on Never. I’ve really given myself permission to suck writing this first draft, and it’s liberating. I have always fallen into the trap of editing as I write a first draft, and it slows me down something awful. Right now, I need to burn through this draft so I can get to the fun part – editing it.
Only a short walk yesterday, during which I was catching up on the latest episode of The Writer and the Critic. I’m a bit behind, but I like to have read all of the books Kirstyn and Ian discuss beforehand. I love this podcast so much. And Ian and Kirstyn’s banter had me walking along the road, giggling like an idiot
Reading has slowed down of late – still working on The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, but finding it very slow going. I have so many books I am dying to get to, but I’m making myself try to read only one piece of fiction at a time (just ignore those other ones in the Goodreads widget ).
Media consumption last night was the latest episode of Game of Thrones, which I’m enjoying. It’s an interesting experience watching it when I can’t remember the book at all, apart from a couple of bits and pieces.
