Not a bad day, as far as writing goes. I definitely work well with the television on in the background, as counterintuitive as it seems. But whatever works, works.

No writing on the weekend, though I was thinking about the book a lot. I definitely do better with having a break on the weekends, too. Pushing myself, I can do for a short while, but if I try for too long, I just burn out.

I want to be able to write like a regular job - sit down for eight hours a day.

Kiddo, I have some news for you - what you're doing now IS writing like a regular job. You can't write for eight hours a day, nobody can. Well, some, maybe, but not normal writers. You're doing more writing than most full-time writers can claim, trust me.

90% of writing is doing stuff other than writing. That's when the important stuff happens. The writing itself is the smallest part. By far.

At least, that's what I told myself in London... ;)
