Project: Shaede draft four and a bit

Goal: 85,000 words (or thereabouts)

Writing: Another good day.  I actually got my words down early (for me these days).  I’m plagued by headaches that come on in the afternoon at the moment (mostly due to muscle tightness in my neck and shoulders, I think) so I’m having to try to chase the words before my mind gets too fuzzy.  I’m really happy with this draft – things are coming together better, and I have a really good idea for a sub-plot that I want to weave in.  Today, I am enjoying being a writer.

Real life: Still dealing with this mild cold, which I’m dosing with vitamin C.  Got out to do a little bit of shopping this morning, and got some gardening in as well.  It’s surprising me how much I’m enjoying having a bigger garden.  Though I still hate the waste of space that’s the lawn.

Total words for 2008: 409,626

Forgive the jump in the total words for 2008 – I just realised today that my spreadsheet wasn’t calculating properly.  That word count amazes me, and saddens me at the same time, since I know that so many of those words have been tossed away.  Such is life.
