Killing my darlings.

And it’s surprisingly fun. Taking out chunks of unnecessary scenes, removing places where there is ambiguity. It’s a huge job, but I’m determined to get it done as quickly as I can so I can send this baby out again.

I’ve been sensible today and been working on my laptop at least. The weekend enthusiasm saw me working on my desktop all day on Saturday and Sunday, a recipe for too much pain. I hate having to baby my rebellious body, but it’s just a fact of life. I can’t cure this disease, and so I must live with it.

Be thankful instead for the comfortable couch, the air conditioning, the sheer convenience of modern life. Cold water on demand, food in the fridge.
