Today’s work:

Full draft of short Bone Girls: 2,226 words.

Rewrites of A Sound of Wings: 772 words.

I’m pleased with today’s work. I sat down earlier than usual, not having any errands or the like to deal with this morning. Whipped off over 1k on Bone Girls before lunch, the rest after. The story needs expansion, but it’s better than the crap I churned out yesterday. I have the flow of the story and the bones, but not the guts yet. I suspect it will need a new title as well. No idea where this one is going to find a home, if any.

A Sound of Wings is an old piece of mine. It’s been submitted, rejected and duly trunked. There’s an anthology I have my eye on that could fit it, so I dug it out today. I was just playing around mainly with it, and ended up spending a good hour or so doing research. I need to excavate this relic properly, give it life.
