I’m curious – for all the writers who read this, are you a pantser or a outliner?  What is your process?

(I have a post brewing on my own process, it will be forthcoming when I have the time and mental energy)

Today’s progress:
Project: White Raven draft two

New words: 2,250

Total words: 76,975

Goal: 100k

Writing:

Kind of a frustrating day – I’m back to sketching out new scenes, which is fun creatively, but something that I always find a bit challenging.  Even when I know what’s meant to be happening.  I’ll be going back and rewriting, anyway, before I move on.

I did finish the chapter I’ve been banging my head against.  Still not happy with it, and I’ll give it another look over before I send it to my betas to see what they think.

I’m on the downward slope of this book, though, which feels weird and good at the same time.  On track for getting this draft finished before I’m forced to take a break from writing, which is making me happy.

Real life:

Some slush reading, a tiny bit of gardening (I am pathetic, and can’t cope with too much bending and weeding right now.  The garden has been invaded by triffid-like weeds, though, and it’s been fine today, so I had no excuse not to do a little bit of work).  Also caught up on a very overdue review.
Will be going for a walk shortly, since my back is screaming at me.

Beauty:

It’s fine enough today for me to actually want to be outside digging in the garden.  There is something satisfying in being able to step back from a garden bed and actually see where you’ve accomplished something.  This reprieve from rain is going to be short-lived, though – I think we have another week of rain predicted.  Where’s my spring, dammit?
