Lost Day

Today was a lost day.

I woke up feverish, which combined with yesterday’s crippling fatigue, means only one thing: a lupus flare.  Luckily, mine mostly be of the annoying and inconvenient variety (and not the life-threatening or run-to-the-doctor-now sort).  Most of the disease is controlled by the medication I’m on, but there’s always the crappy patches.

Still, I managed to get up and get the kidlet and myself fed and dressed.  Did the minimum of house tidying, attempted some work.  I didn’t manage much, since my brain pretty much felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool.  A stroke of luck saw a very exhausted kidlet take a two hour nap (which would have been shorter, but it rained, which lulled him back to sleep when he woke cranky), so I got a rest.

I did manage to finish reading The First Australians, which was awesome and confronting and horrifying, all at once.  I honestly never realised there was so much violence in the native Aboriginal culture.

In need of something lighter for my poor brain, I finally picked up Soulless, which has been languishing on my shelf for far too long.  Read the first 40 pages or so, and am enjoying it greatly so far.
