Felled by Captain Trips
Oct. 13th, 2011 09:58 amYou may have noticed a lack of blogging here this week. There’s a simple reason for that – I’ve been sick.
This year has been a crappy one for my immune system. Shingles a while ago, and now a particularly awful flu. The rest of the family have had it as well – the husband got over it in a few days (he’s usually a two sniffs and he’s done with a flu or cold person) and the kidlet has been sick with it for a while, too. As usual, I seem to come down with it worse than everyone else. It’s not too bad – I can get out of bed, for example, though showering and doing the bare minimum of housework (yes, I am that kind of person, I pretty much have to be on death’s door before I let everything slide) is taking all of my energy.
Thankfully, the kidlet has been an angel this week, even while he’s been sick himself. He’s been sleeping like a champ, and happy to play around me while I sit on the couch. ABC for Kids has helped a lot, too My mother has been taking him as much as she can, too, and the husband has been home from work early most days. I have no idea how single parents cope when they’re sick.
Anyway, there has been no writing this week. Monday, I felt so bad that I wondered if I would ever feel like writing again. Thankfully, I have been able to read and have been plowing through Trent Jamison’s Deathworks trilogy. Rereading the first two books (which are even more awesome than I remember them being) and have just started reading the third one.
