Exercise: Walked to and from the post office – around 20 minutes walking in very windy conditions.

Fun stuff: Freaking out characters. Spooky dark men trailing them.

Interesting stuff: Alanna gets to have sex in the very first chapter. Little slut

Other work: Nothing yet. Spoons holding up, I’d like to get at least one review done tonight.

Reading: American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

The glamourous life of a writer: Writing was like pulling teeth today. I had to break three times to get my word count, and then got near the end of the chapter so had to finish it off. Hopefully the brain complies more tomorrow when I move onto Aidan’s first chapter.

TaM has two protagonists – Alanna and Aidan. At the moment, I am unsure as to when they’ll meet. Though technically, they’ve met before in a past life.

Alanna is very pale naturally, both of skin and hair. In contrast, her eyes are very dark. To make it look less freaky, she dyes her hair black. She leans towards the gothic in her fashion sense, though what she wears is very much dependent upon what she is trying to project. In the first chapter she goes from oversized shirt and jeans to short come-f**k-me dress to a t-shirt pilfered from the floor of a one night stand.

She is studying genetics, trying to finish a PhD thesis (Hey, I have to put my own thesis to use somewhere!) though her heart isn’t really in it. She has the talent, but not the drive. In fact, she doesn’t have the drive for much – she’s drifting pretty aimlessly through life (a fairly common trait in my characters).

Her songs so far: NIN – Closer, NIN – The Perfect Drug, Mila – Rocket Collecting.
