Today’s progress:

Project: White Raven draft two

New words: 4,363

Total words: 65,034

Goal: 100k

Writing:

That word count looks a lot better than it really is, since a good chunk of it was rewriting.  I woke up at 3am knowing how to fix one scene, but it required some fixes to other scenes as well.  I still don’t know if I’ve quite hit the mark with these scenes, but I’m determined to move on tomorrow no matter what and deal with it in the next rewrites.

Right now, I’m kind of envious of YA writers, since they’d get to be near the end of the book right now.  As it is, I’m looking at a minimum of another 20k, and most likely more.  I really need to sit down and do some serious outlining of how I’m going to get to the end of this draft, too, since it’s going to change almost completely from the last draft.

Real life:

Lots of catching up on email and other correspondence this morning.  I’m not totally caught up, but I’ve swum somewhat out of the mire.

Have done some work on a review, and will go for a walk shortly.  Back is killing me right now, so I need to get out and move.  I’m thinking that I may need to rework my writing setup soon, for it’s giving me a lot of back pain.  But then again, pretty much everything is giving me back pain right now.  Not much to be done about that for the next three months, unfortunately.

Beauty:

This is beauty/slash annoyance   Jilly’s been really smoochy today, coming and finding me about four times during the day and smooching all over me demanding pats and scratches.  This is really cute, except for when I’m in the middle of a good working rhythm and she decides to sit on the keyboard or mouse.
